I'm a reliable, friendly, energetic and resourceful research scientist with a Ph.D. in algorithms and artificial intelligence applied to logistics and manufacturing. I have over 5 years of experience in algorithms development, technical consulting, project management, logistics, supply chain, operations research, machine learning, web applications development. I took part to more than 15 collaborations with different companies and approximately 25 scientific publications.

I have a high willingness to learn and desire to constantly prove myself carrying out more and more challenging tasks. I'm interested in working with people who are honest, direct, and without fake goodness.

I curretly work as Senior Research Engineer in Spindox and I previously worked mainly in academics as Researcher in several universities across Europe (i.e., University of Parma, Stuttgart Technology University of Applied Sciences, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, University of Modena), and Adjunct Professor at University of Parma.

I like living in big cities (even better if close to the sea) and during my life I lived in Reggio Emilia (vote 6/10), London (vote 8/10), Barcelona (vote 9/10), Stuttgart (vote 4/10). I'm always looking for new oppotunities to relocate, make new experiences, and find my place in the world.

My interests concern football, computer science, and many scienific topics which are able to keep my brain busy.

3-DimensionalCasePicking

An algorithm to optimize pickers routing and pallets loading.

Accomplishments

A new algorithm for the 3-Dimensional Case Picking Problem. A newly considered problem of operational research that combines the well-known case picking problem with the positioning of 3-dimensional items inside pallets (i.e., Pallet Loading Problem). The idea comes from a collaboration with the IN3 research group in Computer Science Dept. at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Barcelona, SPAIN).

quiz app
Server Side Algorithms

A platform where users can upload their algorithms and developers can find the algorithms they need.

Accomplishments

Server Side Algorithms (SSA) is a platform with the objective to cover the gap between applications developers and scientists. Through a standard API, the registered developers are allowed to send HTTP requests to the server by requiring the execution of a specific algorithm previously uploaded by a different user.

Derma

A mobile application for skin deseases detection.

Accomplishments

Derma is a mobile application for Android and iOS for detection and recognition of skin deseases. It is able to detect from a picture 9 different kinds of skin desease, and the classification is carried out through a fine tuned EfficientNet model. The application is therefore making use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify an eventual skin illness.
